Chair: Jessie Hernandez
Jessie Hernandez is a subject matter expert in data analytics with more than 5 years of national security experience. He is a manager at Capgemini, one of the world's foremost providers of consulting, technology, and outsourcing services that is present in over 40 countries. Jessie has experience in private industry and in the U.S. federal government delivering advisory services in strategy, decision analysis, and information technology management. He was most recently recognized for supporting efforts to identify and reunify separated migrant families through the use of technology. Prior to joining Capgemini, Jessie was a political appointee in the administration of President Barack Obama. He served in the Secretary’s Office of Partnership and Engagement at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. There, he was one of the Secretary’s representatives to governors, mayors, and top- level public safety officials nationwide. He addressed issues such as border management, aviation, and cybersecurity, immigration, Ebola, Zika, refugee resettlement, violent extremism and other potential threats to the homeland. Jessie was also tapped by the Administration to serve as a DHS representative to a White House task force dedicated to shaping federal policy in aid of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Jessie has continually committed himself to tackle challenges for the Latinx community and working families. The District of Columbia Mayor has recognized Jessie for his local efforts to bridge government and the Latinx community. He has also contributed to a White House initiative charged with creating greater opportunities in government and education for Latinxs. The Huffington Post recognized Jessie’s commitment to his work by honoring him in their list of “Latinos: 40 under 40.” |
